Basic Ginger Tea

A herbal tea, with a long history in asian herbal medicine. Hot, soothing, and delicious

Ingredients
  

  • 16 fl oz Water
  • 1 piece ginger 2-3" peeled / sliced thin
  • Honey to taste
  • 1 tbsp Lemon zest
  • 1 shot Bourbon Good, but not great stuff here.

Method
 

  1. add water, ginger, zest to small saucepan
  2. Bring to a boil, and reduce to a simmer
  3. Simmer 5-10 minutes, depending on taste
  4. Strain into cups
  5. Add honey / bourbon to taste

Notes

Optionals
  • A stick of cinnamon
  • Sprigs of mint
add these to the simmer, and strain
  • Lemon Slice
  • Lemon Juice
Add to cups and strain tea into them
Once can also brew classic tea and add ginger slices to the pot.
